Description

Rue de Grenelle is a long street that runs from Champs de Mars (Eiffel Tower), through Rue Cler area (the street market), the Invalid (Napoleon's tomb), and finally comes into the heart of St. Germain des Pres. Along the street, behind unpretentious-looking doors, hidden many beautiful and sumptuous old town houses that still belong to French aristocratic families, or, prominent politicians and industrialist.

Our apartment is at the corner of Boulevard Raspail and the rue de Grenelle, in the St. Germain des Près part of the Grenelle street. Within easy walking distance are the d'Orsay museum, the Louvre, the Rodin museum, the Tuileries Garden, and the Hotel Matignon (official residence of the French Prime Minister). For those who are more interested in shopping, the immediate area is also full of famous designer shops (Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton...), as well as lesser-known but equally chic Parisian boutiques. And because Saint Germain des Pres is home to so many of the city's most fashionable people, the streets themselves provide a glimpse of elegant Parisian style.

Our apartment is in a back building of "Directoire" style (19th century), therefore, quiet and far from the street noise. It is on the 3rd and last floor, with sky and Parisian roof views. There is no elevator, but the staircase is large and easy to climb up. Downstairs, in the front building, there is one of the best cheese shops in the neighbourhood called “Barthelemy”, but unfortunately, the temper of the owner is as stinky as their cheese. Next to it, there is this little flower shop that only sells beautiful roses.

This apartment had been completely renovated in 2003, the kitchen, bathroom are modern and new; all electricity and plumbing system had been re-installed in a proper way. We also recently installed the service that provides international phone calls, broadband Internet access, and English television channels, all free of charge to our guests.
The décor is simple and elegant, and as for the furnishings, they include a top quality Queen-size bed, a dinning table for two and dinning chairs, and two armchairs with a small glass table.
There are two large closet that provide plenty storage places for guests.
The main large window (with double glaze) lets in a lot of lights, make the apartment a cheerful returning place after every day’s sightseeing.
